Cookies management

What are cookies? Why are they used?

Cookies are very small computer files. They are stored on your computer, tablet or phone through your browser.

The cookie contains a unique code that allows us to recognise your browser during your visit to the site (“session cookie”) or on subsequent visits (“permanent cookie”). It consists of the name of the server that placed the cookie, an expiry date and a unique encrypted code.

Cookies can be placed by the server of the website you are visiting or by partner sites with which it collaborates. The server can only read the cookies that it has set itself; it has no access to any other information on your computer or mobile device.

Cookies are used to improve the interaction between the visitor and the site: to facilitate navigation, to make the content more relevant, to adapt the display of information to the preferences and needs of the visitor (choice of interface language for example).

These cookies may contain personal data, either because your consent has been obtained or because this data is technically essential (e.g. to identify oneself in order to access a service or place an order online).

How do we use cookies on our site?

On the Lisez-vous le belge? website, we only use analytical performance cookies to collect information about how visitors use our website. The aim is to improve the content and user-friendliness of our website.

For this purpose, we use Google Analytics. Its cookies enable us to find out how many visitors there are to the website, how long and how often they visit, and how they navigate from page to page. This allows us, for example, to ensure that they can easily find the information they are looking for.

How can I block or delete cookies?

By changing your browser settings, you can refuse the installation of cookies at any time. You also have the option of deleting all cookies already installed on your computer or mobile device or just deleting some of them.
